Bureau Veritas | Approval In Principle of the OHMe

January 18, 2024: DOLFINES obtains from Bureau Veritas | Marine & Offshore an Approval In Principle of the OHMe, Offshore Heavy Maintenance enabler, system.

The OHMe is a giant telescopic tower able to lift a standard crane or a specific tool at the right height to perform blade installation and major component replacement on all models of offshore wind turbines. The current version of the OHMe can be installed at quay side or on a jack-up vessel.

By mobilizing relatively small traditional jack-up vessels as an alternative to specialized Offshore Services Vessels, the OHMe is a cost-effective solution with greater availability to perform Offshore Heavy Maintenance tasks.

In its Approval In Principle, Bureau Veritas | Marine & Offshore evaluated the system’s structure from a safety & integrity point of view, including the operations of OHMe installation, jacking & locking and components lifting.
OHMe is a patented technology. The future construction and operation of the OHMe will be carried out by Ohmex Services, a fully owned subsidiary of DOLFINES tasked with developing this technology.
